Debuted in 1997, the Acura CL is a mid-size luxury car. Besides being the first Acura vehicle to be built in the U.S, it was also known as the coupe version of the Acura TL sedan. Among the Acura CL parts, two engine choices are offered: a 2.2L inline 4 engines and a 3.0L 6 cylinders V6. The Acura CL became the first to use a close ratio 6 speed manual transmission with a helical limited slip differential. With a facelift in 2003, the Acura CL featured a wider stance, double wishbone suspension, a McPherson strut, and a lower slung suspension design. The original turn signals of the front bumpers were not incorporated into the new headlights. The Type-S version of Acura CL housed a 3.2 L SOHC VTEC J-series V6 engine that produces 232 lbs of torque. It featured a sportier trim; from the shift knob with the infamous Type-S logo, to the rear spoiler and dual exhaust. Acura CL Type-S also included 17x7" 12-spoke wheels.
