Q: How to remove and install a power steering pump?A: Remove the drivebelt. Clamp the power steering feed hose shut so fluid loss will be minimized when the hose is disconnected, then disconnect the feed hose and pressure line at the pump. Cap or plug all openings (line, hose and pump) to prevent leakage or contamination. Remove the pump mounting fasteners and remove the pump (Power steering pump lower mounting boll). Installation is the reverse of removal. Install a new 0-ring on the end of the pressure line. On models with a separate power steering belt, be sure that the drivebelt tension is correct, check the power steering fluid level and add some, if necessary, then bleed the power steering system.
