Acura Legend Instrument Panel

The Acura Legend Instrument Panel provides drivers with a good line of sight to important gauges and controls, allowing them to monitor speed, fuel, and engine status without distraction. Positioned directly in front of the driver, this Instrument Panel consolidates important readouts into one small space, allowing a quick glance to keep the car running safely. Over time, oil from hands, stored odds and ends, and relentless sunlight may cause the Instrument Panel surface to crack or fade, which may dull the appearance as well as visibility. To combat that wear, owners will often go to the expense of a fitted cover that sits on top of the Instrument Panel, blocking dirt, sharp objects, and heat. Throughout its run, the Acura maintained the layout of the Legend and improved materials over the relocation of gauges. Across the model years, the Legend's options evolved from a fully analog arrangement to a selectable electronic style, the latter being a replacement of the physical needles with a digital display but keeping the centered arrangement of the original Instrument Panel. Beyond that shift, all Acura sedans have the same objective, keeping important information front and center while maintaining the cabin's polished feel.

Acura Legend Instrument Panel Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Remove the Instrument Panel and Steering Column on an Acura Legend?
    A:
Detach first the negative from your battery, then take off the steering wheel and column covers, next unfasten the bolts holding the steering column bracket, and finally lower the steering column. When working on a Legend vehicle, first take off the defroster trim pieces, the left air vent panel, and the hood opening handle. Move on to take off the lower dash panels and cover of the fuse box. Disconnect the wiring connection to the fuse box. Disconnect the heater and air conditioner controls, free the negative line linked to the steering column, remove all holding bolts, nuts, and screws, and pull out all electrical connectors. Step back the instrument panel from the steering wheel, pull it out of the dashboard, and take it off the car. Installation is the reverse of removal.
