The Acura RL Starter Motor springs the crankshaft into motion, waking the V6 engine. This means that if the engine speed unexpectedly increases, the Starter Motor will instantly disconnect from the flywheel. Safety switches, such as the neutral switch and brake-pedal switch, prevent the Starter Motor from engaging unless certain conditions are met.
