Acura TL ABS Control Module
The Acura TL ABS Control Module regulates brake pressure so that the wheels will not lock up during hard stops. Having access to speed sensor data at each wheel, the ABS Control Module compares the rotation rates of the wheels hundreds of times per second. After detecting a fault, the Control Module sends commands to solenoid valves in the hydraulic unit. This allows them to release and restore brake fluid in bursts. This causes each wheel to stay balanced and on the very edge of traction. In both layouts, the ABS Control Module and a high speed pump work together to rebuild pressure once a valve opens. This technology helped Acura set a benchmark for braking. Early generations of the TL applied a three-channel design. This treated both rear wheels as a pair. It was not until the later TL models that a four-channel layout was adopted. This modulates pressure independently at all four corners. This gives shorter stops and better steering control for Acura drivers. The ABS Control Module flashes the lamp on the dash and stores a trouble code if it detects debris in the gap, a broken ring tooth, or damaged wiring. It will also suspend only the anti-lock function so the basic brakes remain operational. The upgraded ABS Control Module continuously monitors for potential danger, bringing Acura safety to life by executing instantaneous hydraulic action while constantly diagnosing for trouble.

An electric hydraulic pump is in the engine compartment in the modulator unit with the modulator unit containing solenoid valves to modulate brake line pressure and the actuating hydraulics which are the electric hydraulic pump to the actuating hydraulics to provide pressure to the braking system. An electronic module interprets a signal produced by each of a pair of speed sensors that generate a signal proportional to wheel speed. Steering knuckle and the rear suspension knuckle mounting the front sensors and rear sensors respectively. On the modulator, the ABSNSA computer processes sensor information so that hydraulic pressure can be controlled, and that system faults are monitored. If a dashboard warning light stays illuminated, then verify the brake fluid level, secure electrical connections, and the fuses, but especially check fuses, before having a professional diagnose and repair your vehicle. Before handling electrical connections you should turn off the ignition with caution. To remove the wheel speed sensor the vehicle will need to be raised and supported securely, the ignition turned off and the sensor wiring traced and disconnected before removing the sensor from the knuckle. Following this installation is done in reverse order and all components are secure.
