Acura TL Mirror
The Acura TL Mirror allows drivers to see what their eyes can't, increasing safety with every ride. Positioned on the front doors next to the A-pillars, each Mirror extends the field of vision beyond 180 degrees, showing the driver the traffic lurking along the sedan's flanks and rear. Early TL generations featured a simple and plain Mirror on the driver side with an optional passenger unit, similar to the 1960s where many considered that second piece to be an extravagance. Later TL models applied convex Mirror glass or aspheric sheets on the passenger side in exchange for precise distance perception for a wider view to aid in lane changing. In line with Acura quality, power adjustment soon replaced the older manual toggle, allowing users to fine-tune the angle from inside the cabin. Recent editions add electric heating to melt frost, electrochromic dimming to tame nighttime glare and a folding hinge that tucks the Mirror in when parking or washing. Worldwide rules also influenced the design, which had to have shatter-resistant edges and specific curvature to protect pedestrians. A replacement costs low in parts, so maintaining the Acura model's vision gear in place remains affordable for the majority of owners.

- Q: How to remove and install the mirror on an Acura TL?A:For 2003 and earlier models, lower the window completely and carefully pry off the mirror trim cover using a small screwdriver or trim removal tool. Remove the Door Trim Panel, disconnect the mirror electrical connector, and detach the harness clip. Then, remove the three mirror retaining nuts and detach the mirror from the door. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2004 and later models, lower the window all the way and remove the door trim panel. Remove the front door molding by prying loose the two retainers at each lower end, then pop loose the six orange clips along the molding. Carefully disengage the molding from the hooks at the upper rear and lower front corners of the window opening. Disconnect the mirror electrical connector, remove the three mirror retaining nuts, and take off the mirror assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal.
