The rear hub and bearing are a single assembly, sealed for life and requiring no lubrication or maintenance; if worn or damaged, the entire assembly must be replaced. Begin by loosening the rear wheel lug nuts, raising the rear of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on jackstands while blocking the front wheels to prevent rolling. Remove the wheels, then take off the brake disc. Next, remove the dust cover, unstake, and take out the hub retaining nut using a hammer and chisel, followed by a suitable punch. After that, remove the hub and bearing assembly from the spindle. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring to install a new hub retaining nut and tighten it to the specified torque, staking it in place with a suitable punch. It is advisable to apply a little clean engine oil to the seating surface of the hub retaining nut before installation. Install the dust cover by tapping lightly around the edge until seated, tighten all brake-related fasteners to the specified torque, and finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, lowering the vehicle and tightening the lug nuts to the required torque.
