Acura 53540-SD4-003 Passenger Side Steering Tie Rod End

To remove the tie-rod end, first loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, support it securely on jackstands, and remove the wheel. Next, hold the tie-rod end with a backup wrench and loosen the jam nut enough to mark the position of the tie-rod end in relation to the threads, making an alignment mark on the exposed threads along the edge of the tie-rod end. Remove the cotter pin and loosen the nut on the tie-rod end stud without completely removing it. Use a two-jaw puller to separate the tie-rod from the steering knuckle arm, then remove the nut and detach the tie-rod. Unscrew the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. For installation, thread the tie-rod end onto the marked position and insert the tie-rod stud into the steering knuckle arm without tightening the jam nut yet. Install the castellated nut on the stud and tighten it to the specified torque, then install a new cotter pin. Securely tighten the jam nut, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque. Finally, have the alignment checked by a dealer service department or an alignment shop.
