Acura 51220-SDA-305 Joint Front Ball

The upper balljoint is mounted in the upper control arm and the lower balljoint in the steering knuckle; the front suspension uses two balljoints. One balljoint is at the outer end of the upper arm, used in the rear suspension. Today, balljoints cannot simply be serviced and thus the upper control arm or the steering knuckle must be replaced if a balljoint is bad. Before disassembling the vehicle, it is advisable to check with a local auto parts store or your dealer part department regarding whether or not parts are available. The balljoint boots are however replaceable, secured with a wire set ring, which can be easily replaced once the components have been separated.
