To remove the shock absorber assembly, first loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the wheel. Next, unbolt the flexible brake hose from the strut assembly and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the lower arm. Place a floor jack under the lower arm for support when removing the shock absorber assembly, then remove the damper fork pinch bolt. After that, remove the damper fork-to-lower arm bolt and detach the fork, which may require tapping it from the shock absorber. Support the shock absorber and coil spring assembly, then remove the three upper mounting nuts and take the unit out from the fender well. For installation, guide the shock absorber assembly back into the fender well, inserting the three upper mounting studs through the body holes and securing them with nuts without fully tightening yet. Insert the lower end of the shock absorber into the damper fork, ensuring the aligning tab enters the slot in the steering knuckle or damper fork. Connect the damper fork to the lower arm, tightening the self-locking nut and the damper fork pinch bolt to the specified torque. Attach the brake hose to its bracket and tighten the bolt securely, then install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the specified torque before finally tightening the upper mounting nuts.

Remove the trunk side carpet, upper mounting nuts, clip for the parking brake cable from the trailing arm, and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the trailing arm. Then, remove the upper arm mounting bolts and the shock absorber lower mounting bolt, and pull the lower arm down to remove the shock absorber/coil spring assembly.
