The air conditioning pressure switch serves to detect low and high system pressure, automatically shutting the system off if pressure surpasses predetermined values. To address this component, begin by having the refrigerant discharged and recovered by a certified air conditioning technician. Proceed to remove the radiator. Unplug the electrical connector from the air conditioning pressure switch. Note that on 2004 and later models, the switch is situated on the condenser near the lower line fitting on the right (passenger's) side, while on 2003 and earlier models, it is mounted on the top of the receiver-drier positioned in front of the condenser. Unscrew the pressure switch, lubricate the O-ring on the switch with clean refrigerant oil of the appropriate type, and securely screw the new switch in place. Reconnect the electrical connector, and finally, ensure the system's proper functioning by having it evacuated, charged, and leak-tested by the shop that discharged it.
