Q: How to Replace a Steering Gear Boot?A: Raise the vehicle, support on jack-stands, and remove the wheel. Take off the tie-rod end, jam nut, and rack and pinion boot. Wrap the tie-rod end with tape to protect the new boot. Position the new boot on the rack and pinion and secure with new clamps. Remove tape, reinstall tie-rod end and wheel. Lower vehicle and tighten lug nuts.
