How to replace the Lift Support, Trunk Latch and Trunk Lock Cylinder on Acura Integra?

First, open the trunk, mark it up with a line to reference when you need to replace the trunk rim lid latch. After that, disconnect the latch, it's cable, lock cylinder rod and electrical wires and install new latch in the reverse order. To remove rod from trunk lock cylinder, locate thumb screws at bottom of trunk lock cylinder then open trunk, look upward through access hole to remove rod from lock cylinder. Turn the cylinder clockwise, remove the bolt, and remove the cycylinder when the tab is positioned in the slot of the body. The reverse process is reinstallation. Open the trunk and am certain you have something secured to support it. Remove the two bolts that hold the support strut upper end, remove the cover using a small screwdriver and the retaining bolt at the lower end, then take out the strut. In reverse order, the installation is redone.
