Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Remove all door trim panel retaining screws and door pull/armrest assemblies, noting that some screws may be hidden under covers; pry off the inner door handle trim cover for access. For manual window regulator models, remove the window crank handle using a wire hook to take off the clip, while for power regulator models, pry out the control switch assembly and unplug it. Insert a putty knife between the trim panel and the door to disengage the retaining clips, working around the outer edge until the panel is free. Once all clips are disengaged, detach the trim panel, unplug any wire harness connectors, and remove the panel from the vehicle by grasping it securely and pulling up; on some Legend models, it may be necessary to detach the top of the trim panel with a screwdriver. For access to the inner door, carefully peel back the plastic shield to avoid distortion or tearing. Before reinstalling the door panel, ensure any clips that may have come out during removal are reinstalled in the panel. Plug in the wire harness connectors, position the panel in the door, press it into place until the clips are seated, and install the armrest/door pulls. Finally, install the manual regulator crank handle at a 45-degree angle with the window closed or the power window switch assembly.
