EACV have been added to models from 1988 and later; EICV to models from 1986 and 1987. First turn the ignition switch OFF to check the system. For 10 seconds remove the HAZARD fuse in the main fuse box to reset the ECU. To reset the ECU, remove ALTERNATOR SENSE fuse in the engine compartment relay box for 10 seconds in all Legend, or HAZARD fuse in the main fuse box for 10 seconds in the all Integra models. You will find the EACV or EICV, which is either a box or cylinder shaped with a mounting tab on the intake manifold near the throttle body. The EACV should register 8 to 15 ohms, and the EICV 6 to 20 ohms. On each terminal check for continuity to ground and if it exists. If any results are wrong, replace the EACV or EICV with a new unit. With the ignition in the ON position measure the voltage between the black/yellow(+) wire and the blue/yellow(-) wire for EACV, or blue/red(-) wire for EICV located on the wiring harness side of the connector. The ECU may be faulty if battery voltage is present and the vehicle should be examined at a dealer service department or qualified repair shop. If there is not voltage, measure voltage between the black/ yellow terminal and ground. Repair the open circuit between the EICV and main relay or between the EACV and #4 fuse or main relay, if there is no voltage. If there is voltage present have vehicle checked by a dealer service department or qualified repair shop. To remove for inspection or replacement, pull the electrical connector from the EACV, remove valve bolts and remove the EACV or EICV from the engine. The reverse of removal is installation.
