Remove the wheel, loosen the lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Next, slide the
Tie Rod End and jam nut off. You then take off the rack and pinion boot clamps and slide off the boot. On the end of the steering rod, wrap the threads and serrations in a layer of tape before stretching the new boot; this will prevent damage to the small end of the new boot. Install new clamps and slide the new boot into position with the rack and pinion, so that it seats in the groove up on the steering rod. Remove the tape and install the tie-rod end. Then, lower your vehicle, install the wheel and the lug nuts and tighten them to the specified torque.
