- Q: How to Adjust the Throttle Cable on a Fuel Injection Unit on Acura Legend?A:Before commencing this process, ensure the engine is at normal operating temperature (with the cooling fan activating at least twice), verify correct idle speed, and confirm proper adjustment of the throttle cable. Proceed to loosen locknuts A and B on the Throttle Cable bracket. Depress the Throttle Cable lever on the transaxle, holding it down, and assess the Throttle Cable free play at the fuel injection unit throttle link. Eliminate any free play by adjusting locknut A until none is detectable at the throttle link. With the Throttle Cable lever still depressed, simultaneously tug on the throttle link at the fuel injection unit, expecting synchronized movement of the throttle link and Throttle Cable lever. Enlist an assistant to fully depress the throttle pedal and maintain it to the floor. Inspect the free play at the control lever; if it doesn't conform to specifications, proceed with cable readjustment.
