How to Replace an A/C Compressor on an Acura TL?

Have an AC technician discharge and recover the refrigerant. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the drivebelt, condenser fan, and alternator. Set the parking brake, raise the vehicle's front and support it on jackstands. Remove the engine compartment's splash shield, disconnect the compressor clutch connector, wire harness, low-pressure line fitting, and mounting bolt. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the compressor, plug all openings to prevent dirt entry. Remove the compressor mounting bolts and guide the compressor out. If installing a new compressor, drain excess oil as directed. Transfer the clutch from the original compressor if needed. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace all 0-rings with new ones, lubricate with refrigerant oil, tighten fasteners and line fitting nuts. Reconnect the battery, have the system evacuated, recharged and leak-tested by the shop.
