The accompanying photos depict the front fender used on 2004 and later models, with slightly different bolt locations on earlier fenders; however, the procedure is typical and similar across models. Begin by loosening the wheel lug nuts, raising the front of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on jackstands before removing the front wheel from the desired side. Next, remove the front
Bumper cover and the headlight housing. After that, take off the mud flap and detach the two bolts and seven push fasteners that secure the inner fender splash shield, followed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the front sidemarker light and removing the foam insulator block. Proceed to remove the trim piece covering the upper fender mounting bolts, then take out the upper fender mounting bolts and the upper rear fender mounting bolt by opening the front door. Pull out the front side sill to access and remove the lower rear fender mounting bolt. After removing the headlight housing again, take out the front fender mounting bolt and then the fender itself, ideally with assistance to prevent damage to surrounding body panels. If replacing the fender, remove the front sidemarker light housing, and installation is the reverse of removal.
