To remove the front bumper cover, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For 2001 and earlier models, remove the two bolts and two screws securing the underside of the bumper cover to the fenders, then take out the three clips below the
Grille and the six lower clips attaching the bumper cover to the inner fender splash shields and engine under cover before removing the bumper cover. For 2002 and 2003 models, first remove the 10 clips securing the front bulkhead cover, then the two clips on the grille, followed by the two bolts and two screws for the fenders, and finally the six lower clips before removing the bumper cover. For 2004 and later models, start by removing the left and right engine compartment covers and the front bulkhead cover. Next, working underneath, remove the two left strake mounting bolts, disengage the strake mounting tab, and remove the left strake, repeating for the right strake. Remove the lower mounting fasteners from the corners of the bumper cover, the two lower push fasteners from the middle underside, and the two upper push fasteners from each side of the grille. Pull back the inner fender splash shields to access the voids behind the corners of the bumper cover and remove the mounting screws. Pull on the bumper cover at the wheel arch areas to disengage it from the side spacers, and with assistance, pull the bumper cover forward while disconnecting any fog light electrical connectors before removing it. For the rear bumper cover, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. For 2003 and earlier models, open the trunk lid and remove five clips from the top of the bumper cover, two clips from the underside, two clips from the forward edges at the wheel arches, and two screws from the upper front corners before carefully pulling up on the upper edges to disengage the hooks and removing the rear bumper cover after disconnecting the license plate light connector. For 2004 and later models, open the trunk lid, remove the fasteners securing the upper portion of the bumper cover, the screws at the forward edges, and the eight push fasteners from the underside before pulling up on the upper edges to disengage the hooks and removing the rear bumper cover. Installation is the reverse of removal for both front and rear bumper covers.
