For models from 2003 and earlier, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is located at the left rear corner of the intake manifold, while for models from 2004 to 2006, it is positioned on the left end of the intake manifold, on the front side of the throttle body mounting flange, between the throttle body and the manifold. In models from 2007 and later, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is found on the left end of the intake manifold, ahead of the throttle body flange. Begin by removing the engine or intake manifold cover. Next, disconnect the electrical connector from the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor by depressing the release tab and pulling off the connector. For 2007 and later models, the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is screwed into the left end of the intake manifold, in front of the throttle body mounting flange. Unscrew and remove the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor, and be sure to remove and discard the old O-ring. For 2003 and earlier models, it is important to use a new O-ring when reinstalling the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor, even if the old sensor is being reused. In 2004 and later models, the O-ring is countersunk into the intake manifold. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring a new O-ring is used and the Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor is tightened to the specified torque.
