Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, place it securely on jackstands and remove the rear wheel. For 2WD models, remove the brake drum or caliper and disc, then use a hammer and chisel to remove the dust cover, unstake the hub retaining nut, unscrew the nut, then remove the thrust washer and the hub assembly. For 4WD models, remove the wheel cover or hub cap, unstake the driveaxle/hub nut and loosen it, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jack-stands, remove the wheel, remove the driveaxle/hub nut, unscrew the brake line fitting from the wheel cylinder, remove the brake shoes from the backing plate, remove the hub-to-trailing arm bolts, and remove the hub and bearing assembly. Install the new hub assembly and thrust washer, tighten the new nut, then stake its edge into the groove in the spindle, install the dust cover by tapping lightly around the edge until it is seated, and for 4WD models, tighten the hub and bearing assembly bolts, tighten the driveaxle/hub nut, tighten the lug nuts, and bleed the brakes. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal.
