Acura 42200-SG0-000 Hub Unit Bearing Assembly

The rear hub and bearing are a sealed for life assembly, with no lubrication and no attention necessary after break in, should it be worn or damaged, the hub and bearing must be replaced. Lose the rear back wheel lug nuts, place the vehicle safely out from under it on jackstands and take out the rear wheel. Then remove the brake drum or caliper and disc. Remove the hub retaining nut, unscrew it, pull off the hub unit after removing the thrust washer. In some models it may be necessary to bend down a lock tab to unscrew the nut. The hub nut orientation differs for certain models, and in some cases you might want to remove the shield of the anti lock brake sensor, also you might need to use floor jack to place the hub carrier corrected. But if the hub assembly sticks to the hub bore, for certain models, a puller will be required to remove it. Install the new hub assembly and thrust washer, tighten the new nut, to the specified torque, buy staking the edge of the nut into the groove in the spindle, or bending up the lock tab against the nut. The remainder of the installation is removed in reverse order.
