First, have the air conditioning system refrigerant discharged by a dealer service department or air conditioning repair facility. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. If the radio in your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery. Set the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the drivebelt. Remove the power steering pump. Remove the cruise control actuator if equipped.
