Start the job when the engine is cool, by waiting at least three hours before working on it. You'll find the fuel filter at the back of your engine room on the wall between the engine and car's body. Fill an authorized fuel can below where the fuel filter sits. Carefully cover the filter with a clean shop towel, then empty the fuel system of pressure. Loosen the banjo bolt and service bolt. Disconnect the fittings from each side of the fuel filter, take off the clamp, and lift it out of the engine bay. To safely remove the fuel line filter, use a specific wrench designed for fitting removal. Before putting the fuel filter back, scrub all fuel passages clean so you can seal it perfectly without leaks. Installation is the reverse of removal.
