Acura 17630-S0K-A52 Fuel Gauge Sending Unit

Disconnect the negative battery terminal and relieve fuel pressure. Remove the back seat cushion and fuel pump access cover. Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connector and detach fuel lines. Remove the fuel pump assembly and disconnect its electrical connector. Use pliers to remove hose clamps and the fuel inlet filter. Separate the pump from its bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel level sensor/fuel gauge unit and set the supply line aside. Remove the unit locknut and the unit from the tank. Install a new gasket, align the index mark, and tighten the locknut. Reverse the process for installation.

Depressurize the fuel system and disconnect the battery. Remove the fuel pump and fuel level sensor from the tank. Disconnect the fuel level sensor and separate it from the pump bracket. Detach the sensor from the filter housing and remove the case. Disconnect the fuel supply line and discard the 0-ring. Disconnect the pump wiring and ground wire. Remove the pressure regulator housing, ground wire, retaining clip, and 0-rings. Inspect the spacer and filter screen. Remove the fuel pump and discard the 0-ring. Remove the suction filter and clean the strainer. Reassemble the pump, filter, and fuel level sensor with new 0-rings and retainer clip. Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and check for leaks.
