    How to Replace the Front Crankshaft Seal on an Acura Legend? Posted by Customer
    A:
    Remove the timing belt and crankshaft sprocket while leaving the engine mount in place to support the engine. Carefully pry the seal out of the engine using a screwdriver or seal removal tool, ensuring not to scratch the housing bore or damage the crankshaft, as any damage could lead to leaks with the new seal. Clean the oil seal bore and coat the outer edge of the new seal with a small amount of engine oil to facilitate installation, and apply moly-base grease to the seal lip. Using Acura tool no. 07GAD-PH70200 or a socket with an outside diameter slightly smaller than that of the seal, carefully drive the new seal into place with a hammer, ensuring the socket or a short section of large diameter pipe is used if a socket is unavailable. After installation, check the seal to confirm that the garter spring did not pop out of place. Reinstall the crankshaft sprocket and timing belt, then run the engine to check for oil leaks at the front seal.
