    When installing a new brake booster, measure and adjust the length of the input rod. The installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring tight booster mounting nuts and a new cotter pin for the clevis pin. For a new unit, check pushrod clearance by applying a vacuum to the booster, measuring the pushrod protrusion, and adjusting as necessary to achieve the specified clearance.
