Disconnect both battery cables and wait three minutes. Rotate the wheel 180-degrees, remove the access plate, and unplug the airbag module connector, then remove the shorting connector and plug it into the airbag module connector. Center the steering wheel, remove the small panels on each side, and remove the Torx screws. Remove the module and disconnect the horn and cruise control connectors. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut or bolt, mark the steering wheel hub and shaft relationship, and remove the wheel. Ensure the wheels are straight and the cable reel is centered. Align the index mark on the steering wheel hub with the shaft mark, ensure the pins on the cable reel engage the holes in the steering wheel, and tighten the mounting nut or bolt. Plug in the horn and cruise control connectors, reattach the airbag module with new Torx bolts, and install the access panels. Unplug the shorting connector from the airbag connector, plug the airbag and cable reel connector halves together, and secure the shorting connector to the access plate.
