Acura Legend Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the coolant reservoir on Acura Legend?
    A:
The coolant reservoir is mounted adjacent to the Radiator in the corner of the engine compartment. On Legend models, the overflow hose from the radiator neck leads to the top of the coolant reservoir. The cap is removed with the hose still attached and the reservoir is lifted straight up out of the bracket. For lntegra models, the filler neck is near the radiator cap with a vertical hose connecting to the reservoir. However, the coolant reservoir is accessed from under the vehicle. The parking brake is set and the rear wheels are blocked. The front of the vehicle is raised and supported securely on jackstands. The lower splash shield is removed for access. The hose is disconnected from the top of the reservoir and the reservoir is lowered out. The coolant is temporarily poured into a container on all models. The reservoir is washed out and inspected for cracks and chafing. If the reservoir is damaged, it is replaced. Installation follows the reverse process of removal.
