Start the procedure when the engine cools off completely. First unplug the negative cable from the battery. Peninate oil the exhaust manifold fasteners and soak. Remove the shroud bolts and nut from the manifold being removed and the heat insulator shroud from the oxygen sensor. Unplug the oxygen sensor from the oxygen sensor wiring harness. Prevent the rear wheels from rolling and set the parking brake, then put the transaxle in Park (automati c) or first (manual). Support the front of the vehicle and raise so it sits on jackstands, then remove the lower splash guard. Take the exhaust pipes out of the manifolds and remove them off the vehicle. Pull the front manifold apart and remove the air suction pipe. Remove the nuts that keep the manifold in place on the
Cylinder Head and you remove the manifold off the mounting studs. Look over the manifold and any fasteners for any cracks or damage. Remove old gasket material and carbon deposits from alike surfaces of the manifold and cylinder head using a scraper. Look for leaks if there was a gasket and check warpage and get a resurfaced manifold if needed. Thread mounting nuts into place, place a new gasket over the cylinder head studs position a new gasket over the cylinder head studs and install the manifold. In three equal steps, from the center out tighten the nuts to the specified torque. Unscrew the remaining parts in reverse order, new gaskets on exhaust pipes and suction pipe. Last, you run the engine to make sure no exhaust leaks.
