- Q: How to Inspect and Replace the Turn Signal Switch and Headlight/Wiper/Washer Combination Switches on an Acura Legend?A:This guide works the same for both the headlight/turn signal and wiper/washer combination switches on the Legend's steering column. Disconnect and remove the electrical connectors from the steering wheel's two switch cover parts. For access, remove the lower dash panel. When checking the switch connection terminals with a multimeter, make sure the switch is set to the right position, then test it for proper working current. If switching results show different readings, you need to exchange the switch. On typical Legend cars, you can disconnect the turn signal and wiper controls one at a time. Simply pop the steering wheel off, unscrew the retaining screws on the switch, and lift out the whole unit. Disconnect the switch electrical cable from its mounting point on the wiring harness, then remove the entire combination switch from its vehicle location. Installation is the reverse of removal.
