2003 through 2006 Acura vehicles and 2005 model year and newer Honda vehicles. The APP sensor is mounted on the firewall and communicates with the accelerator pedal by a cable. Take out the bolt of the APP sensor cover, and take off the sensor cover. Removed the electrical connector from the APP sensor. Pull off the accelerator cable for the APP sensor cam. No point in removing the cable from the bracket; simply work the cable free from the cam. If you ever do remove the cable from the cable bracket, then you will need to reposition it once you are through. Remove the accelerator cable bracket from the APP sensor. Take out the APP sensor mounting bracket bolts and pull out the sensor as well as the bracket at once. Unbolt the two bolts of APP sensor mounting to free the bracket and APP sensor from the mounting. Repairs: Removal is the process of displacing a PSF and Installation is the exact opposite of the process. If you removed the accelerator cable from the cable bracket, make sure and, if needed, inspect the accelerator cable and, if needed, set it before mounting the APP sensor cover. APP sensor is mounted on the upper part of the accelerator pedal and is embedded in the accelerator pedal module; it cannot be installed separately. Unlike some designs, there is no accelerator cable. Pull the electrical connector off of the APP sensor. Take out the mounting nuts of the app sensor module and (thereafter) take out the app sensor module. Installation is the process of unscrewing the coating head in reverse manner as it was screwed in.
