- A:To remove the hub/bearing assembly on a 2007 Acura MDX, start by loosening the drive axle/hub nut and the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel and the brake caliper, caliper mounting bracket, and brake disc. Next, remove the drive axle/hub nut and the hub/bearing assembly mounting bolts from the rear of the steering knuckle. Take out the hub/bearing assembly from the steering knuckle, using a two-jaw puller if necessary. To install the new hub/bearing assembly, ensure that the mounting surface inside the steering knuckle and on the drive axle splines is smooth and free of burrs and nicks. Lubricate the drive axle splines with multi-purpose grease and install the hub/bearing assembly onto the drive axle and into the steering knuckle until it is seated securely. Tighten the hub/bearing assembly-to-steering knuckle bolts in a criss-cross pattern until the assembly is securely seated. Install a new drive axle/hub nut, but do not tighten it yet. Install the brake disc, caliper mounting bracket, and caliper, tightening the fasteners to the specified torque values. Finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, remove the jack stands, and lower the vehicle.
