Acura 51605-SR3-J04 Right Front Shock Absorber Unit (Showa)

Start by loosening the wheel lug nuts, raising the vehicle, and securing it with jackstands. Remove the wheel. Then, unbolt the brake hose from the shock absorber assembly and disconnect the stabilizer bar from the lower control arm. Position a floor jack beneath the lower control arm to provide support during shock absorber removal. Proceed to remove the damper fork pinch bolt and the damper fork-to-lower control arm bolt, detaching the fork from the shock absorber. Support the shock absorber and coil spring assembly, and take off the two upper mounting nuts, ensuring not to remove the larger center nut. Carefully remove the unit from the fenderwell.

Check the shock absorber for leaking fluid, dents, cracks or other obvious damage, and inspect the coil spring for chips or cracks which could cause premature failure and the spring seats for hardness or general deterioration.

Driveaxle boots are crucial in preventing dirt, water, and foreign material from damaging the constant velocity (CV) joints.

Use a wrench to loosen the lug nuts.
