Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, ensuring you have the correct activation code for the radio's anti-theft system if applicable. For an Integra, remove the air cleaner intake air duct. Clearly label and disconnect the wires from the terminals on the starter motor solenoid, and disconnect any clips securing the wiring to the starter. Remove the bracket assembly that retains the harness wiring loom to the transaxle, disconnect the starter wires, and remove the upper and lower mounting bolts to separate the starter from the transaxle. Remove the mounting bolts that retain the end cover to the gear housing and detach the starter. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Check the starter/solenoid assembly on the bench, as the solenoid may be defective.
