Acura 35710-SE3-A01 Clutch Switch Assembly (Inhibiter)

The clutch start switch, also known as the clutch interlock switch, should be checked to ensure the engine does not start when the clutch pedal is released and does start when the pedal is fully depressed. If the engine fails to start with the pedal depressed or starts with it released, the electrical connector from the switch should be unplugged, and continuity between the connector terminals should be checked with the pedal depressed. Continuity indicates the switch is functioning properly; lack of continuity with the pedal depressed or continuity when the pedal is released necessitates a switch replacement. For replacement, the switch's electrical connector should be unplugged, the locknut loosened, and the switch unscrewed from the clutch pedal bracket. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, and to adjust the switch, the locknut should be loosened, allowing the switch to be turned in or out to ensure continuity when the clutch pedal is raised 1/8 to 5/16 inch (3 to 8 mm) from the fully depressed position.
