To check the brake light switch, press the brake pedal and see if the lights come on. If not, inspect the brake light fuse and bulbs. If these are fine, find the brake light switch at the top of the pedal. Unplug the connector and check for continuity across the relevant terminals depending on your model. There should be continuity when the pedal is depressed and none when released. If the switch is faulty, replace it. Remove the locknut and unscrew the switch from the bracket to replace. Install the new switch in reverse order. Adjust the switch plunger and pedal height, then tighten securely. Ensure the brake lights work correctly.
