Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, drain the transaxle fluid, remove the starter motor, disconnect the driveaxles from the transaxle, disconnect the speedometer cable, disconnect the wire harness from the transaxle, disconnect and plug the oil cooler hoses, remove any exhaust components which will interfere with transaxle removal, disconnect the TV cable, disconnect the shift cable, support the engine using a hoist from above or a jack and a block of wood under the oil pan to spread the load, support the transaxle with a jack, remove the torque converter cover, mark the relationship of the torque converter to the driveplate with white paint, remove the torque converter-to-driveplate bolts, remove the transaxle mount nuts and bolts, remove the bolts securing the transaxle to the engine, disconnect any chassis or suspension components which will interfere with transaxle removal, move the transaxle back to disengage it from the engine block dowel pins, make sure the torque converter is detached from the driveplate, secure the torque converter to the transaxle, lower the transaxle from the vehicle, make sure that the torque converter hub is securely engaged in the pump, raise the transaxle into position, turn the torque converter to line it up with the drive plate, move the transaxle forward carefully until the dowel pins and the torque converter are engaged, install the transaxle housing-to-engine bolts, install the torque converter-to-drive plate bolts, install any suspension and chassis components, remove the jacks supporting the transaxle and the engine, install the starter motor, connect the shift and TV cables, plug in the transaxle electrical connectors, install the torque converter cover, connect the driveaxles, connect the speedometer cable, connect the fluid cooler lines, adjust the shift linkage, install any exhaust system components, lower the vehicle, fill the transaxle, run the vehicle and check for fluid leaks.
