    What is the location and removal process for the IAC valve on the Acura MDX? Posted by Customer

    On the 2001-2002 Acura and 2003-2004 Honda models, the Idle Control Valve is located beneath the throttle body. The newer models do not have an Idle Control Valve on an electronic throttle body. Unscrew the screws that hold the throttle body and Idle Control Valve in place to remove the Idle Control Valve from it. Replace the old Idle Control Valve gasket with a new one during installation. Screw in the Idle Control Valve screws tightly enough. The remaining part of installation follows removal's reverse order.

    On 2003 and earlier models, the Idle Control Valve is located on the underside of the throttle body, while 2004 and later models are equipped with an electronic throttle body that does not have an Idle Control Valve. Begin by removing the throttle body from the intake manifold. Next, detach the Idle Control Valve from the throttle body by removing the two mounting screws and take out the Idle Control Valve. Discard the old Idle Control Valve gasket and ensure a new gasket is used during installation. When installing the Idle Control Valve, securely tighten the mounting screws. The installation process follows the reverse order of removal.
