When replacing entire components, additional refrigerant should be added equal to the amount that is removed with the component being replaced. Be sure to read the can before adding any oil to the system, to make sure it is compatible with the R-134a system. Have the refrigerant discharged and recycled by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the battery. If the radio in your vehicle is equipped with an ant-theft system make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C Accumulator and cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture entry. Working in the engine compartment, remove the bolts and disconnect both refrigerant line fittings from the A/C Accumulator. Remove the inner fender panel, loosen the A/C Accumulator bracket pinch bolt and lift the A/C Accumulator out of the vehicle. Working in the wheel well, remove the A/C Accumulator bracket pinch bolt. Installation is the reverse of removal, using new O-rings where the lines connect to the A/C Accumulator. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an air conditioning technician. If the A/C Accumulator was replaced, add 1/3 ounce of refrigerant oil.
