To replace the door latch, first raise the window and remove the
Door Trim Panel along with the watershield. Through the large access hole, disengage the outside door handle-to-latch rod, outside door lock-to-latch rod, inside lock-to-latch rod, inside handle-to-latch rod, and the lock solenoid-to-latch rod if equipped. All door locking rods are secured by plastic clips that can be unsnapped and pulled out. Next, remove the screws securing the latch to the door and take out the latch assembly. For the outside handle and door lock cylinder assembly, raise the window and remove the door trim panel and watershield. Disengage the plastic clips securing the outside handle-to-latch rod and the outside door lock-to-latch rod, then remove the outside handle retaining bolts and take out the handle and lock cylinder assembly. In some models, detaching the lock cylinder retaining clip may be necessary before removing the handle. For the inside handle on Civic and CR-V models, remove the door handle retaining screw, pull the handle outward, disconnect the handle actuating rods and the door lock switch electrical connector, and remove the handle. On Integra models, remove the door trim panel and watershield, unclip the door actuating rod guide, and remove the handle retaining screws before pulling the handle free and disconnecting the actuating rod. Installation for all components is the reverse of removal.
