Acura Integra Door Hinge
The Acura Integra Door Hinge allows both doors to swing freely while holding them aligned with the body, preventing sag and maintaining latch precision. The Door Hinge is applied to hold the weight of the door and maintain the alignment of the latch and striker, preventing droop, slams, and wear. There are two primary styles of Door Hinge applied in Acura Integra history, an older bolt-on design that utilizes built-in detents and a newer style that uses a separate check strap. The two versions rotate a hardened steel pin with the assistance of brass bushings, which are easily revived with pin and bushing kits even when the hinge is welded. With the pin or bushings worn out, the Door Hinge becomes loose, the door starts to sag, and the misalignment causes drivers to bang the panel, damaging locks and strikers. Replacing a worn Door Hinge will restore crisp motion, allow the Acura case latch to clip on, and prevent any Integra door from being tipped out overextension. Frequent pin and grease inspections keep an Acura Integra tight over the years until more hinge work is required.

- Q: How often should the Door Hinge, Door Latch Assembly, Door Lock, Hood Hinge, Hood Latch, Liftgate Hinge and Trunk Latch be lubricated on Acura Integra?A:Every 3000 or 300,000 miles (whichever happens first) or once every three months, oil or lock lubricant should be applied as a few drops to the hinges and latch assemblies on the doors, Hood, and trunk (or liftgate). Also, door latch strikers should be lubricated with a very thin coat of grease to minimize wear, so door latch strikers move freely. Spray the door and trunk (or liftgate) locks with spray on graphite lubricant.
