Acura Integra Intake Valve

The Acura Integra Intake Valve allows the engine to breathe and opens just long enough to allow the air fuel mixture to rush in and slams shut to trap compression for eager acceleration. Acting off camshaft lobes, the Intake Valve swings wide open during the intake stroke and then seals for combustion. Early Acura Integra motors preferred an overhead cam head where rockers or buckets press straight on the Intake Valve; there's low weight and high rpm while the alternative is the overhead valve design that adds lifters and pushrods to go to the same Intake Valve; this is heavier moving mass and requires closer lash checks. The important difference is that additional linkage, with OHC responding quicker and OHV more susceptible to clearance growth which can bend parts. Throughout modern variants of the Acura Integra, materials were improved to handle higher revs. All Acura models are based on firm springs that keep the Intake Valve closed with about 70 to 90 pounds at seat and over 200 open, ensuring that there is no float or piston contact to ensure that every Integra delivers smooth power and efficiency.

We provide a broad range of OEM Acura Integra Intake Valve at unbeatable prices on our website. For your OEM parts, You can count on the guaranteed quality, manufacturer's warranty, outstanding customer service, and prompt delivery. We look forward to your visit.

Acura Integra Intake Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Check and Adjust Exhaust Valve and Intake Valve Clearances on Acura Integra?
    A:
Valve clearances generally do not need adjustment unless valve train components have been replaced, or a valve job has been performed. The simplest check for proper valve adjustment is to listen carefully to the engine running with the hood open. If the valve train is noisy, adjustment is necessary. The valve clearance must be checked and adjusted with the engine cold. Remove the valve cover. Place the number one piston at Top Dead Center (TDC) on the compression stroke. With the engine in this position, the number one cylinder valve adjustment can be checked and adjusted. Start with the intake valve clearance. Insert a feeler gauge of the correct thickness between the valve stem and the rocker arm on single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engines or an intake camshaft lobe and the rocker arm on dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) engines. Withdraw it; you should feel a slight drag. If there's no drag or a heavy drag, loosen the adjuster nut and back off the adjuster screw. Carefully tighten the adjuster screw until you can feel a slight drag on the feeler gauge as you withdraw it. Hold the adjuster screw with a screwdriver and tighten the locknut. Recheck the clearance to make sure it hasn't changed. Repeat the procedure on the other intake valve, then on the two exhaust valves. Rotate the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise until the number three cylinder is at TDC. Check and adjust the number three cylinder valves. Rotate the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise until the number four cylinder is at TDC. Check and adjust the number four cylinder valves. Rotate the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise to bring the number two cylinder to TDC. Check and adjust the number two cylinder valves. Install the valve cover.
