When it's functioning, there is an audible clicking when the flasher unit is functioning. When one side of the turn signal bulb fails, the flasher unit does not click, it can be a bad turn signal bulb. A blown fuse in the engine compartment fuse box, a bad flasher unit, a bad switch or if there is a loose or open connection. If it is the turn signal fuse that has blown it may be as simple as a quick check of the fuse box, but it is important to check the wiring first for a short before installing a new fuse. To do this, just pull the flasher from the fuse block, and make sure the new one is identical to the old as you compare the two and install them in reverse of removal.
