Acura Legend Door Lock
The Acura Legend Door Lock prevents unwanted access to the cabin while driving or parked. The early Legend models utilized a basic key cylinder, which was connected to rods linked to a latch. Thus, when these models locked, the outside handle would not move the clasp. When Acura was refining the sedan and coupe, power Door Lock actuators came along, allowing drivers to tap a switch that commanded every Door Lock through electric motors rather than twisting inside knobs. The mid-generation Legend trims were fitted with remote keyless entry. The fob sends a coded radio pulse to a receiver. The receiver then cycles each Door Lock once for the driver door and again for the rest. A double press flashes the lights or sounds the horn to confirm. In later years, Acura integrated an automatic locking mechanism that activates every Door Lock when the transmission shifts to Drive or the car reaches set speed before unlocking in Park.
