How is the Camshaft Removed on the Acura MDX?

To remove the camshaft, you must first drain the engine coolant and take off the valve covers and timing belt. Now, you should disconnect nuts from both ends of these bars, then ensure that they don't move. One should remove rocker arms and shafts, then check the camshaft endplay. Acura MDX Camshaft

The Acura MDX Camshaft coordinates accurate valve timing to ensure that the SUV is breathing efficiently and providing balanced power. Positioned in synchrony with the crankshaft by either a chain or belt, the Camshaft rotates at half crank speed in the four-stroke engine, raising its eccentric lobes to open the intake and exhaust valves and then allowing spring force to close them. Earlier generations of the Acura MDX were designed around a single overhead cam layout that applied one Camshaft per cylinder head and rocker arms to actuate the valves, whereas later generations of the MDX use a double overhead cam design that has two Camshafts per cylinder head and bucket followers to separately control intake and exhaust events for better smooth high rpm operation. Each Camshaft must maintain perfect alignment with the crank, or else misfires would occur.
