2007 Acura MDX models are equipped with an external transmission fluid cooler. On all other models, the automatic transmission fluid cooler is an integral component of the radiator. To begin, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Next, remove the engine splash shield. The front bumper should also be removed. Position a drain pan underneath the cooler, then remove the clamps and separate the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the cooler. The power steering hose bracket should be removed from the transmission cooler mounting bracket. Unscrew the mounting bolls and remove the transmission cooler. Installation is the reverse of removal. Check the automatic transaxle fluid level, adding as necessary.
