First remove the center console, then remove the cotter pin and the cable end away from the lock pins on the shift lever. The shifter cable is connected to the ball at the end of the shifter, hooked by a clip, and the select cable attaches to a hole in the right side of the shifter housing. Remove spring clips by prying them off shift lever housing and shift lever, while rotating cables until the squared edge are aligned into slot in the shift lever housing. Rip the carpet from under the car, grab the grommet from the floorpan and lift the front of the car up and put it on jackstands. To remove the cable bracket from the floorpan unscrew the nut, remove the cotter pins and washers, and remove the cables from the shift levers on the transaxle. Remove the spring clip(s) and unplug the cable(s) from the bracket on the transaxle; run the cable(s) through the floorpan. The rest of the installation is conducted in reverse order of removal.
