Acura Integra Shift Cable

The Acura Integra Shift Cable lets the driver translate hand movement at the gear lever into crisp gear changes by linking the shifter directly to the transmission. In early Acura front wheel drive models floor mounted shifters applied rigid rods, but the design soon favored a flexible Shift Cable that could snake through tight engine bays and still push or pull the shift forks with little effort, giving Integra models a lighter, more precise feel. Manual versions employ a dual strand Shift Cable set that attaches to the transaxle's shift arms, moving sliders inside the gearbox for each selected gate, while automatic trims rely on a single selector Shift Cable that tugs the transmission's manual lever to engage Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive or Low. Both styles share the same goal, yet the automatic variant only positions ranges, whereas the manual pair must handle multi axis motion for the familiar H pattern. Over time any Shift Cable can stretch, fray or snap, causing vague engagement or leaving the car stuck in gear, so timely replacement restores factory fresh control for every Acura Integra driver.

We provide a broad range of OEM Acura Integra Shift Cable at unbeatable prices on our website. For your OEM parts, You can count on the guaranteed quality, manufacturer's warranty, outstanding customer service, and prompt delivery. We look forward to your visit.

Acura Integra Shift Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace and adjust the Shift Cable on an Acura Integra?
    A:
Start by taking out the center console on Civic and Integra vehicles. Take the shift lever to the neutral spot and pull off the small piece that holds the cable adjuster in place. While jackstands keep the front of your vehicle raised, remove and replace the shift cable bracket. Lift off the part that holds the shift cable to the floorpan, disconnect the cable from the arm, and take out the cover. Before reinstalling, you need to fix the shift cable the right way back this time. Before continuing, remove the center console if you haven't done so already and shift into Neutral. Take off the retaining clip from the cable adjuster. You have two holes where marks are 90-degrees apart on the adjustment tool; fit the hole perfectly with the shift cable. To fix the alignment, first loosen and then tighten the locknut on the shift cable before making any adjustments. Put the retaining clip on the adjuster, but make sure it moves without resistance, because this tells you to keep adjusting until it does. Put the panel back on, match the marks by moving it, and lock the panel down tight with the screws. Locate the Neutral mark on the shift indicator panel. Make sure the shift lever matches this mark precisely when the transmission is in Neutral; adjust the panel if it doesn't. Begin the test drive, and make sure the gear shift works well in each gear.
